The report is emphasizing the importance of non-cognitive abilities, like for example setting goals, coming into action, to persist and to deal. with temptations and setbacks. Workshop at the Houthoff Litigation Event conducted by Ivo

On Friday November 17th, Ivo Giesen conducted a workshop at the Houthoff Litigation Event in Soesterberg. The workshop was on the influence of psychology on judicial decisions. He focussed on the confirmation bias and its influence on legal practice.



Stefan Kulk spoke on Dutch Radio 1 about the Right to be Forgotten

Stefan Kulk was a guest in the radio show of EenVandaag, to talk about the Right to be Forgotten. The matter concerned rapper Abdel, who for religious reasons, wanted old YouTube videos of him removed. When YouTube refused, he took the matter to court.

Sign up for a convention organised by Renforce and Ucall

On 23 November the researches of Utrecht Centre for Regulation and Enforcement in Europe (Renforce) and Utrecht Centre for Accountability and Liability Law (Ucall) will organise a convention with the title ‘Confiscation of criminal assets in the European Union’. Experts on the area of cross-border cases on proceeds of crime will share their experiences.

Berthy van den Broek gave a lecture at the foundation advising courts in environmental law and spatial planning disputes (Stichting Advisering Bestuursrechtspraak) in the Hague.

On 19th of September 2017 Ms. van den Broek gave a lecture at the Stichting Advisering Bestuursrechtspraak (StAB) in the Hague. She addressed the current developments on the loss resulting from government planning decisions and on the compensation for loss resulting from administrative acts. Matters such as the developments on the common societal risk,  the first draft of the compensation for loss of the Environment and Planning act as well as the relationship of the latter to the General Administrative Law act.
